Senses&Seasons | Wednesdays 4:00-4:45pm beginning March 22, ages 18 months-2.5 years
This 8-week class focuses on sensory bin play, offering exposure to various materials to scoop, pour, squeeze, and touch. Combined with a seasonal book, this class is sure to be a hit with your little one!
This class is appropriate for ages 18months-2.5yrs old.
We limit the number of participants (typically 5-8 children) as to create a safe and calm environment in which children and grown-ups can explore, communicate, and play.
Why Sensory Play?
Beyond the messy fun, social play, and bonding time with your grown-ups, sensory play has many other benefits. It is calming, centering and therapeutic, improves gross and fine motor skills, helps develop and expand vocabulary and is just a ton of fun
Take advantage of our introductory price
 $100 for 8 classes! Pre-registration required
To inquire about or sign up for this class please contact Alissa.
Date: Wednesdays at 4:00-4:45 starting mid-March
Alissa Peskin is a local mother to 2 kiddos, Abigail & Eli, wife to my high school sweetheart, Russell, and an early childhood educator. I hold a Masters of Education in Early Childhood and Special Education from Hofstra University. I have been in the classroom for 10 years teaching children ages 2-4 and have recently began as the Curriculum Director at my wonderful, progressive, gem of a preschool.
My background in early childhood development, and experience in the classroom has led me to design this class. I have noticed that by the time the children enter my class at age 3, they have not had much experience with sensory play. This program is meant to offer the opportunity to do so, all while meeting new people and enjoying time with your children!

These kid-with-parent classes concentrate on food identification, gross motor skills, and sensory development through generally messy, sometimes silly, and always educative hands-on exercises. Pre-C class is 4 weeks long with each week covering a different food or theme. Class is open to toddlers ages 2 1/2 up to preschoolers age 4 and their caregiver. Children make simple snacks each class with additional activities such as singing a song, silly dances and movement, or reading a story to support the lesson.
Hungry Education is the brainchild of Megan Haupt, longtime food educator and mom to a 7 year old picky eater. Megan has built Hungry Education around the idea that healthy eating begins with healthy food relationships. Hungry explores the idea of healthy food relationships through hands-on, no pressure, no agenda, play-based food education. Hungry’s food ed classes, camps, and workshops incorporate movement, music, storytelling, and art into all of their curriculum.

Most playgroups are all ages, unless otherwise noted. No need to register or sign up; all are welcome to attend. First playgroup is free; otherwise membership is required ($100/year per family) and your child(ren) (with caretakers) can attend all playgroups.

Lilypad does not have permanent staff; we are only around during playgroups, if you want to check out our space.

Please keep in mind that we have steps in front of our building. Lilypad does not provide indoor stroller parking; you may borrow one of our bike locks while you are at Lilypad for your stroller! We invite your child to play freely in our space. Sometimes child’s play may seem a little risky to adults. Through play, children acquire confidence, but also an awareness of limits and boundaries. They learn how to be safe. That being said, please supervise your children as you feel comfortable. We do ask that all children leave shoes on for their safety. Ride-on toys should remain in the riding area when there are pre-walkers at playgroup.
